E. Jason Davis is the new general manager of Colorado operations for Peabody Energy.
Davis oversees the operation of the Twentymile underground coal mine near Steamboat Springs as well as the development of any future coal reserves and operations in Colorado.
Davis previously worked as superintendent of operations at Twentymile, one of the largest coal mines in Colorado. He’s also worked as a project engineer, production supervisor and mining engineer for Peabody operations in Kentucky and West Virginia.
“Jason brings a great depth of surface and underground mining knowledge as well as engineering and safety experience gained in coal regions across the United States,” said Charles Meintjes, Peabody group executive for Colorado and the midwest.
Patrick Sollars succeeds Davis as superintendent of operations at Twentymile, where he has worked for more than 20 years. He served as assistant superintendent and also has held roles in engineering, production and maintenance.
Peabody Energy ranks among the largest private coal companies in the world with 2010 sales of 246 million tons and nearly $7 billion in revenues.
