John O’Donnell has joined Pinnacol Assurance as president and chief executive officer of Colorado’s largest workers’ compensation insurer. O’Donnell will succeed Phil Kalin, who plans to retire March 31.

O’Donnell brings to his new position more than 30 years of experience, most recently as executive vice president of Allstate. He also worked at GMAC, Walt Dinsey Co. and Goldman Sachs.
