Pinnacol Assurance has distributed a total of $1.4 million in dividend checks to nearly 1,900 employers in Mesa County.

Nearly 53,000 employers across Colorado received a portion of the $50 million dividend from Pinnacol Assurance, a workers’ compensation insurer in the state. Individual checks averaged $944 and were based on the premium size and performance of the policyholders.

“Pinnacol is in a position to provide these dividends because of our careful stewardship of our policyholders’ premium dollars as well as our policyholders’ commitment to their employees’ health and safety,” said Phil Kalin, president and chief executive officer of Pinnacol Assurance. “Pumping $50 million back to our policyholders will help them invest in the people, processes and technology to keep up in Colorado’s fast-moving economy.”

Pinnacol has paid dividends 10 times since 2005, returning a total of nearly $606 million to Colorado businesses.

Pinnacol Assurance provides workers’ compensation insurance to about 57,000 Colorado employers. For more information, log on to
