A meeting offering pizza and information has been scheduled for Aug. 18 for students and parents interested in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.
The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce will host the event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the chamber offices at 360 Grand Ave.
Middle and high school students as well as their parents will eat pizza, learn about the academy and may even complete applications. Applications are due Sept. 15.
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy takes students age 11 to 18 through the process of launching a business or social movement. By the end of the year, students own and operate functioning businesses. The academy offers the only pre-college course of its kind developed by an entrepreneur at a university with the support of the Kauffman Foundation and U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
