Powderhorn joins in ski pass programs

Powderhorn Mountain Resort has once again joined in a program offering discounted lift tickets to 11 Colorado ski resorts.

Powderhorn also has joined in a program offering free and discounted lift tickets to fifth and sixth grade students.

Colorado Ski Country USA, a trade association of 23 ski resorts, sells the Gems Card for $30.

The card offers two-for-one adult lift tickets or 30 percent off adult lift tickets good for up to 22 days of skiing or snowboarding at the Powderhorn Mountain Resort on the Grand Mesa east of Grand Junction as well as Arapahoe Basin, Cooper, Echo Mountain, Eldora, Granby Ranch, Hesperus, Kendall Mountain, Loveland, Monarch and Sunlight.

The Gems card is not valid between Dec. 22 to Jan. 1.

The Passport Program offers fifth grade students three days of free skiing or snowboarding at Colorado Ski Country USA Resorts, including Powderhorn.

An additional program offers fifth graders who’ve never skied or snowboarded one free lesson and equipment rental.

The Passport Program offers sixth grade students four days of skiing or snowboarding for $110 for those who register during the early season and $130 afterwards.

For the 2019-20 ski season, the Passport Program will be digital, allowing passport families to enroll in the program online and visit 22 Colorado ski areas without a physical pass.
