Powderhorn Mountain Resort has scheduled a series of summer events, starting with two athletic competitions set for June 28 and 29. The summer opening is the first for the resort on the Grand Mesa east of Grand Junction.
“We have a very strong and diverse lineup of activities for people to choose from, and we always have really nice weather here in the summer. So it gives all the Western Slope residents an excuse to come up, enjoy the resort and get out of the heat,” said Mike Mathisen, food and beverage manager.
The Powderhorn Mud Dash, an adventure course featuring 11 obstacles, is set for June 28. The Mountain Man Movie Night series also will kick off on June 28. On June 29, Powderhorn will host the Gold’s Games by Gold’s Gym, a competition featuring a running hill climb, log carry, tire toss and other events.
Throughout the summer, Powderhorn will offer chair lift rides, trails for hiking and biking and food service at the Sunset Grille. For more information, visit www.powderhorn.com.
