Powderhorn Mountain Resort will offer an instructional program as well as safety tips in January as part of its observances of the National Ski Areas Association Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and National Safety Week.
“Supporting and encouraging safety across the resort will help us enhance the mountain experience for our guests,” said Daren Cole, general manager at Powderhorn Mountain Resort.
The Learn to Ski and Ride program at Powderhorn offers first-time skiers and snowboard riders ages 8 and up three, full-day group lessons. Those who complete the lessons receive a pass for the remainder of the season. The program costs $249 for participants age 8 to 17 and $299 for those 18 and older.
During National Safety Week Jan. 19 to 27, the guest services desk inside the Powderhorn Mountain Resort lodge will offer a free “know the code” document offering information about safety rules on the mountain as well as skin and health safety.
