Powderhorn Mountain Resort has opened for summer operations that include mountain biking, hiking, food services and lodging.
“We’re thrilled to kick off the summer season, “ said Sam Williams, general manager of the resort on the Grand Mesa east of Grand Junction. “We’ve done some significant improvement on existing trails and construction of the new green trail will open up downhill mountain biking to more families and beginners than ever before.”
Powderhorn offers three downhill mountain biking trails accessed by the Flat Top Flyer, a high-speed detachable quad chairlift. The resort also has begun construction of a new trail for beginners.
Full-day lift tickets sell for $25, while single-ride tickets sell for $12. Children age 6 and under ride for free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Powderhorn offers bike rentals and repairs as well as downhill mountain bike clinics.
The restaurant and lodging at Powderhorn is open on weekends through Oct. 9.
