Powderhorn selling discounted preseason passes

Preseason ski passes to Powderhorn Mountain Resort will remain on sale through Oct. 7, offering savings over full-price season passes as well as free and discounted lift tickets at other resorts.

An adult preseason pass sells for $579, a $70 savings over full-price season passes. Additional types of passes are available for college students and members of the military as well as families and mid-week skiers and snowboarders.

Preseason passes can be purchased at www.powderhorn.com/season-pass-2015-16 or by calling (970) 268-5700.

Passes also may be purchased from a new office Powderhorn opened in the Home Loan Building at 205 N. Fourth St. in downtown Grand Junction. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday until the opening day of the ski season in December.

“We’re excited that our partnership with Home Loan has allowed for such a wonderful opportunity not just for us, but also our guests,” said Dusti Reimer, a spokeswoman for Powderhorn.

Powderhorn plans to open a new high-speed quad chair lift this season that will carry skiers and snowborders to the top of the resort in six minutes, twice as fast as the old lift.

Season pass holders also will receive free or reduced lift tickets at 11 other resorts, including Loveland, Silverton Mountain Resort and Ski Cooper.

“Powderhorn has a great pass product right now. Currently, if you take advantage of all our resort partners, you will get an entire season at Powderhorn along with 27 additional free days at other resorts,” Reimer said.
