Alpine Bank will be the presenting sponsor and Remy Cointreau the title sponsor of Edesia, an annual benefit event pairing gourmet foods with wines and spirits.
Edesia is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. March 24 at the Wine Country Inn in Palisade.
“Alpine Bank’s solid institutional position and philanthropy are well known in our community as well as in our region, so their participation is a huge advantage,” said Joe Scanlon, general manager of the Wine Country Inn and coordinator of Edesia.
“Remy Martin is the Rolls Royce of champagne, cognac and spirits in the world, so you might say we’re in very good company,” Scanlon added.
Remy Cointreau, the U.S. subsidiary of Remy Martin, produces champagne, cognac, the Piper-Sonoma brand of wines and The MaCallan brand of Scotch malt whiskey.
Other businesses also have signed on as additional sponsors of Edesia, while restaurants and food vendors will donate goods and services.
Named for Edesia, the Roman goddess of fine food and wine, the event will feature food prepared by invited chefs and beverages poured by Remy Martin and Colorado wineries. The event also will include hourly food demonstrations and live music.
Tickets sell for $65 each and will be sold at Alpine Bank locations, the Wine Country Inn and Marillac Clinic. Tickets also will be sold online at www.edesiapalisade.com.
Proceeds from Edesia go to the Marillac Clinic, which for 25 years has provided a range of health care services to uninsured Mesa County residents.
“Last year we were happy to present Marillac Clinic a $16,000 check. Our first year, we raised $7,000. We would really love to present $25,000 to celebrate their anniversary,” Scanlon said.
