Maggie Moorland, executive director of the foster grandparent and senior companion programs at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, has completed a Community Resource Center nonprofit leadership and management program.
Moorland was among 26 leaders of nonprofit organizations from across Colorado to complete a nine-month program that included professional development sessions and a three-day retreat. Moorland was among 11 leaders who received a scholarship from the Anschutz Family Foundation to participate.
Moorland now joins the more than 700 professionals who’ve completed the program over the past 25 years.
“The nonprofit leadership and management program gave me skills I can take back to utilize my board more effectively, gave me insight into my leadership style and gave me a great connection to a support group of other nonprofit leaders across Colorado,” Moorland said.
Moorland directs two programs focused on meeting the needs of senior citizens and at-risk children in Mesa County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Colorado Mesa University. Prior to her present position, she worked as a case manager and then resource development officer for Partners of Mesa County.
