Project engineer earns wetlands certification

Marc Kenney, a project engineer with River City Consultants, has earned certification that will allow the Grand Junction engineering and surveying firm to offer wetland delineation and permitting services.

Kenney completed a week-long training program to earn the certification. Wetland delineation can be an important part of land use planning and development. Wetlands as well as areas designated as waters of the United States could require permitting for projects.

Kenney also brings to his duties experience in wetlands restoration and mitigation projects. He holds a professional engineer license in five states and also holds certifications in flood plain management, erosion and sediment control and storm water quality. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree with an environmental concentration from Clarkson University in 1996 and earned a master’s of science degree in civil engineering the next year.

In addition to civil engineering and surveying, River City Consultants offers utility location services, project coordination and construction observation services for private- and public-sector clients. For more information, call 241-4722 or visit www.rccwest.com.
