A total of more than 70 regional artists, artisans and musicians are expected to participate in a week-long exhibition in Grand Junction designed as a cultural showcase.
Gallery 88.1 — Art Interplay is scheduled for Feb. 27 to March 5 on the lower floor of the KAFM community radio station located at 1310 Ute Ave.
Each day of the event will offer a different experience, and the public is invited to attend throughout the week to meet and interact with participants.
An auction of exhibited artwork also is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. March 5. At least 40 percent of auction proceeds will go to support KAFM.
Ramona Winkeller, executive director of KAFM, said Gallery 88.1 — Art Interplay is designed to promote the best of Grand Valley art, music, food, wine and spirits. Along with the exhibition, the event will include information posted online and live radio interviews. That’s in addition to the benefit auction.
“We’re so thankful for the support of our regional art community,” Winkeller said. “The Gallery 88.1 — Art Interplay exhibition will be an amazing event that allows us to provide 365 days of coverage for our regional art community.”
