Powderhorn Ski Resort has joined with Rotary clubs in the Grand Junction area to plan a fund-raiser for local organizations.
The Red Ball Express is scheduled for 3 p.m. March 26 at Powderhorn on the Grand Mesa east of Grand Junction.
Originally developed by the Aspen Rotary Club, the Red Ball Express will feature a group of numbered red exercise balls rolled down a ski slope and funneled into a chute.
Tickets sell for $5. Each ticket matches up with a possible two-ball number combination. The person with the ticket that matches the first two balls to reach the end of the slope will win a $5,000 cash prizes. Prizes of $2,000 and $1,000 will be awarded to the ticket holders matching the third and fourth and fifth and six balls to reach the end of the slope.
Tickets for the Red Ball Express are available from Grand Junction area Rotary clubs as well as Alpine Bank locations, the Boy Scouts, Colorado Discover Ability, Grand Junction Hockey Club, Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley and Powderhorn Racing Club.
