An upcoming seminar will offer information on digital records, disaster planning and recovery and other topics related to records management.
The Western Colorado Chapter of ARMA International has scheduled its annual spring seminar for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 3 at the Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave. in Grand Junction.
ARMA International — formerly the Association of Records Managers & Administrators — is a professional association and an authority on managing records and information — both paper and electronic.
Advance registration is open through April 26 for $75 for ARMA members and students, $90 for others. Walk-in registrations will be welcome for an additional $10. The fee will include materials, break refreshments and lunch.
The seminar has been approved for 5.75 Certified Records Manager credits.
To register or obtain more information, contact Mollie Taggart at email@example.com or visit the website located at www.wcoarma.webs.com.
The seminar will offer information not only for records managers, but also administrative professionals, business owners and managers, government employers and legal professionals who work with records.
The seminar will include two presentations by Janie Wait, president of the Intermountain Record Center in Casper, Wyo.
In her morning presentation titled “Records Management in a Digital World,” Wait will help participants analyze their records to determining the best ways to change from one record-keeping technology to another.
In her afternoon presentation titled “Disaster Planning and Recovery,” Wait will help participants develop plans to protect records in the event of disasters.
