Registration is under way for an upcoming records and information management seminar in Grand Junction

The Western Colorado Chapter of ARMA International has scheduled its spring seminar for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 15 in the community room of Goodwill Industries, 630 24 1/2 Road.

Full-day admission is $75 for ARMA members, students and members of other local professional associations, $90 for others. Admission to lunch and the afternoon sessions is $50 for ARMA members and students, $65 for others. The spring seminar will focus on record destruction, archiving and e-mails:

Dag Adamson, president of LifeSpan Technology, will lead a presentation on electronic data privacy and computer hard drive disposal.

Scott Fasken, vice president of Colorado Document Security in Palisade and president-elect of the National Association for Information Destruction, will discuss best practices for the destruction of paper records.

Marvin Proctor, president of Improve Group, will help participants get control of e-mail.

Catapano, records manager for the City of Grand Junction, will moderate a group discussion of long-term archiving recommendations.

Catapano and records managers with the City of Durango and Department of Energy will present case studies of managing and archiving e-mails.
