Registration is under way for a series of lectures about water, drought and river habitats.
The Hutchins Water Center at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction has scheduled its 2018 water course for 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13, 20 and 27 at the University Center ballroom.
Admission is $45 for the series and $20 for individual sessions. School teachers and students as well as CMU faculty, staff and students may attend at no charge. For more information about the course and registration, visit www.coloradomesa.edu/water-center.
The Feb. 13 lecture will cover Colorado River Basin hydrology and state water law. The Feb. 20 lecture will explore the risk of drought and strategies for coping with shortfalls. The Feb. 27 lecture will cover efforts to improve riparian and fish habitat as well as the river front area in Grand Junction.
