Registration is under way for two popular competitions at the Colorado State Fair that put professional and hobby brewers to the test in crafting beers and ales.
The craft beer competition is open to any licensed brewery that meets state and federal regulations. The entry fee is $35 with a cap at 350 entries. Registration is open through Aug 4. Judging is scheduled for Aug. 20.
The homebrew competition is open to anyone 21 or older. The entry fee is $7. Registration is open through Aug 4. Judging is scheduled for Aug. 19.
In addition, a separate competition is planned for craft beer and homebrew labels. Participants can enter the contest for $35 for each craft beer label and $7 for each homebrew label. Labels must be submitted on empty bottles.
The Colorado State Fair is set for Aug. 25 to Sept. 4 in Pueblo. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event includes competitions, food and merchandise booths and a rodeo.
