Mesa County RSVP has scheduled an open house to mark the impending retirement of Jean Brewer as executive director of the Grand Junction organization.

The open house is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Mesa County RSVP offices in Suite 090 in the basement of the U.S. Bank building at  422 White Ave.

Brewer joined Mesa County RSVP in 1994 and was promoted to executive director five years later.

“I love this organization, and it has been my privilege to guide it as the executive director for the past 18 years,” Brewer said. “The volunteers are amazing, and the staff is the best team anyone could have.”

Mesa County RSVP strengthens the community by engaging volunteers age 55 and over. The 550 volunteers who work with the organization contribute nearly $2 million worth of services to 60 nonprofit organizations, which in turn enables those organizations to serve those in need in the community.
