Family Health West has joined with the City of Fruita and Colorado Association of Viticulture and Enology to host two events on Feb. 16.
The 12th annual Sweet Heart Run is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Fruita Community Center, 324 N. Coulson St.
The first Sweet Heart Wine and Chocolate Tasting is set for 3 to 5 p.m. at the center.
The run will include 5- and 10-kilometer events. Admission is $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K and includes entry into the community center, a custom Loki beanie, swag and post-race refreshments provided by Family Health West.
The wine and chocolate tasting will feature wines from six local wineries and Enstrom and Guittard chocolates. Admission is $30 and includes a tasting glass, unlimited samples of wines and chocolates, savory snacks and light music. Participants in the run will receive $5 off using the promotional code with race registration.
Proceeds from the wine and chocolate tasting will go to the Colorado Association of Viticulture and Enology and education and research for grape growers and wineries.
