Shooting for a challenge? Gun club offers one

Registration remains open through May 1 for a team challenge organized by Rocky Mountain Gun Club in Grand Junction.

Based on the television show “The Amazing Race,” what’s billed as the MAGnificent Challenge will enable participants to experience new forms of sport shooting, archery and situational awareness simulations.

“We really wanted something unique, fun and educational for all ages, “ said Terre Fry, membership and special events coordinator at Rocky Mountain Gun Club.

The MAGnificent Challenge will include five challenges and roadblocks each team must complete. Teams are comprised of two people and have one month to complete the challenges. Prizes include gun club memberships and gift cards. Participants will receive a five-day guest pass to return after the challenge.
