Ski helmet giveaway planned for Powderhorn

St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation and Kohl’s Cares plan to once again give away ski helmets to children at Powderhorn Mountain Resort.

The giveaway is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Jan. 30 in the mountain lodge at Powderhorn, located on the Grand Mesa east of Grand Junction. Parents are encouraged to bring their children early because the limited supply of helmets will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.

“It is great to see how the community continues to support keeping kids safe and equipped with proper helmets through the St. Mary’s partnership with Kohl’s Cares Hospital Program,” said Jodi Greenwood, a registered nurse and trauma coordinator at St. Mary’s.

This is the second year the Kohl’s Cares program has provided free ski helmets to children at Powderhorn.

The Kohl’s Cares program provides funding and volunteer support for children’s health and education, environmental initiatives and women’s health. For more information, visit www.kohls.com
