Cold War Patriots has scheduled a social event in Grand Junction for uranium and nuclear weapons workers.
The event is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 10 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 743 Horizon Drive.
The event will include a Mexican food buffet, magician, trivia contest and prizes. The event also will include a presentation on federal programs offering compensation and health care benefits to those who worked in uranium or nuclear weapons production and subsequently developed illnesses from exposure to radiation or other toxic materials.
“The uranium and nuclear weapons industry is a tight-knit group of people who enjoy getting together to reconnect with co-workers who became friends by sharing a passion and commitment for serving our country,” said Tim Lerew, chairman of the Cold War Patriots. “We invite workers to grab a friend and join us for a fun afternoon.”
Cold War Patriots is a division of Professional Case Management, which provides in-home health care services to uranium and nuclear weapons workers. Cold War Patriots connects workers with benefits and advocates on their behalf. For more information, call (888) 903-8989 or visit www.coldwarpatriots.org.
