Intermountain Health St. Mary’s Regional Hospital has earned a ranking among the 2026-2027 Best Hospitals in the U.S. News & World Report’s latest edition of Best Hospitals.

U.S. News evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationally across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions. Only 16 percent of evaluated hospitals earn a Best Hospitals designation. St. Mary’s ranked seventh in Colorado.

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient experience. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings and Procedures & Conditions ratings measure patient outcomes using data from more than 800 million records of patient care.

“A hospital named among the U.S. News Best Hospitals has demonstrated its commitment to high-quality care, especially in achieving successful outcomes for patients,” said Ben Harder, U.S. News’ managing editor and chief of health analysis. “A Best Hospitals recognition reflects consistent top-tier medical care to its community.”

In evaluations for specialties, St. Mary’s Regional Hospital ranked fourth in Colorado for rehabilitation. The hospital was rated high-performing in seven specialties, procedures and conditions including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, heart bypass surgery, pacemaker implantation, lung cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery and heart attack.
