A state official will offer an update on various trends affecting the Grand Valley economy.
Elizabeth Garner, the state demographer, is scheduled to lead an informal presentation set for 3 to 5 p.m. April 28 at the Grand Junction City Hall Auditorium, 250 N. Fifth St. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Garner will offer updates on population projections, economic indicators and other trends affecting Mesa County as well as Grand Junction, Fruita and Palisade. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions about local conditions.
The State Demography Office is the primary state agency involved with population and demographic information. Its data are used by state agencies to forecast demand for facilities and services. Local governments and nonprofit organizations also use the data to anticipate growth or decline and plan programs and community resources.
