Statewide climate-resilience conversation coming to Grand Junction

The Here & Now Tour: Building Local Resilience to Climate Disaster will make its Western Slope stop in Grand Junction on July 8, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at The Monument Room in Mesa County Central Library, 443 N. Sixth St.

The free event is structured as a listening session, not a lecture or rally, and is open to all residents. The Here & Now Tour is a statewide initiative gathering Coloradans to share first-hand experiences with climate impacts and explore local solutions.

“Climate change is hitting our valley now in our droughts, our wildfire seasons, our shrinking snowpack and our strained water supplies,” said Jim Marshall, chair of the Cleantech Business Coalition. “This tour is designed to hear directly from Western Slope residents about what they’re experiencing and what real resilience would look like in our community.”

Organizers are inviting farmers, business owners, parents and neighbors of all backgrounds to share their perspectives and questions.
