Grand Junction Subaru donated hundreds of science books to the Dual Immersion Academy in Grand Junction as part of a national learning initiative.
“We understand that kids are our future, and we need to do all we can to invest in their education so they become successful community members,” said Shawn Harrison, general manager of Grand Junction Subaru.
The books, all Excellence in Science Award winners, are geared toward students in second through fifth grades. The books were donated through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative. “We know the deepest learning happens when students have the tools they need to inspire new ways of thinking and seeing the world,” Harrison said.
Monica Heptner, principal at Dual Immersion Academy, said she was thrilled Grand Junction Subaru selected the school for a second straight year to receive the books. “We use them in our classroom libraries, the school library, and several are awarded to students for modeling exemplary behavior.”
