Surgical center retains accreditation

The Grand Valley Surgical Center in Grand Junction has retained accreditation for meeting national health care standards set by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

“We believe our patients deserve the best,” said Willis Bultje, administrator of the Grand Valley Surgical Center. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will now that AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means we, as an organization, care enough about our patients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”

The AAAHC accredits more than 5,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States. The accreditation process includes a self-assessment as well as an on-site survey conducted by doctors, nurses and administrators.

“Going through the process challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to strive to continuously improve the quality of the care we provide,” Bultje said.

Located at 710 Wellington Ave., Suite 21, the center houses four operating rooms and two procedure rooms that accommodate a range of ambulatory surgeries and procedures. A total of 66 doctors use the center.
