Brian Hill, an educator with more than 10 years of experience, is scheduled to join Mesa County School District 51 in July as assistant superintendent.
The Mesa County School Board voted to hire Hill to succeed Scott Cooper, who plans to leave his position in June to pursue a principal job on the Western Slope.
Hill has worked as a teacher, supervisor, principal and special assistant to the superintendent in the 80,000-student Austin Independent School District in Texas. He holds a doctor of education degree from the University of Texas.
“I look forward to working with the Mesa County Valley community to engage, equip and empower every student in D51 and ensure that they are ready for college, career and life,” Hill said.
