If you recognize this metal apple sculpture from Downtown Grand Junction’s Art on the Corner and wonder why Terry Burnett has it in his home workshop, don’t worry. He’s not an art thief.

Burnett is the creator of the sculpture, and he removed it from downtown Grand Junction a year ago to freshen up the paint on it.

Its absence didn’t go unnoticed by a whole lot of people who know Burnett, as his wife, artist Carlee Burnett said, “People say they’ve missed it, and they want to know if it’s coming back.”

Terry answered that with an emphatic, “It’s coming back!”

He said it will be re-installed this weekend during the 2026 Downtown Grand Junction Art Festival.
