Tickets are still available for a VIP luncheon planned as part of Edesia, a benefit event pairing food and beverages.
Edesia is scheduled for March 29 at the Wine Country Inn, 777 Grande River Drive in Palisade. The luncheon is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the main event from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets to the luncheon sell for $125 and also include admission to the main event. Tickets to the main event only sell for $75. For tickets or more information, call 464-5777 or visit the website at www.edesiapalisade.com.
Jesper Jonsson, a chef and instructor at the August Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, will be the featured celebrity chef at Edesia.
Johnson expects to prepare for the luncheon an amuse bouche of charcuterie platter served with house pickles and fresh baguettes and an appetizer of carpaccio of beef topped with field greens salad dressed with basalmic vinegar, marinated oyster mushrooms and parmesan shavings. For an entree, Jonsson will prepare a poulet chasseur served on a bed of homemade spaetzle sautéed in butter maitre d’hotel. For dessert, Jonsson will serve peche melba.
All of the courses will be paired with wines selected by Jack Ballanger, food and beverage manager at the Wine Country Inn.
The main event will feature food and beverage samples served by a wide range of vendors as well as culinary demonstrations, live music and a silent auction.
Proceeds from Edesia benefit the Marillac Clinic, which provides health care services to uninsured Mesa County residents with low and moderate incomes.
