Trail of trailers to promote Mesa County agriculture

What’s billed as a trail of trailers has been scheduled to support agriculture and food production in Mesa County.

The event is set for July 24, starting at 4 p.m. at the Kokopelli Fruit Stand between Palisade and Cameo.  A caravan of trucks, trailers and other vehicles representing agriculture will proceed through Palisade, Clifton, down North Avenue through Grand Junction and along U.S. Highway 6 & 50 to Fruita and Loma.

A barbecue is set to begin at 6 p.m. at Loma Livestock. A $5 donation is requested for those attending the meal.

The Mesa County Cattlemen’s Association and Mesa County Farm Bureau organized the trail of trailers for ranchers, farmers and their business partners as well as consumers to show their support for agriculture and food production.
