United Way campaign tops $920,000

Businesses and organizations were recognized for their roles in a campaign that raised more than $900,000 for United Way of Mesa County.

As of March 6, the campaign had raised $923,627. That’s more than 92 percent of the $1 million goal announced at the beginning of the latest fund-raising effort.

Most of the money comes from employee workplace contributions. Individual donations and proceeds from the  Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley benefit event add to the total. The campaign remains open for additional contributions. Call 243-5364 or log on to www.unitedwaymesacounty.org for additional information.

Funds are allocated to nonprofit health and human service programs in Mesa County. Allocations will be announced in late spring.
