Registration remains open for vendors interested in participating in an annual benefit event combining food, wine and spirits.
Edesia is set for 2 p.m. April 2 at the Wine Country Inn, located at 777 Grande River Drive in Palisade.
“Response has been brisk so far, but we welcome restaurants and wineries who would like to join us. We can make room for more participants,” said Ian Kelley, general manager of the Wine Country Inn.
There’s no fee involved, but vendors are expected to provide food bites or other samples of their products for 300 to 400 guests. For more information, vendors can contact the Wine Country Inn at 464-5777 or send an e-mail to email@example.com.
Edesia will be set up not only in the public areas of the Wine Country Inn, but also a large, heated tent in the courtyard. “We’re ready for whatever Mother Nature orders up that day,” Kelley said. “This setup worked very well for us before, so we know our vendors and guests will be quite comfortable regardless of the weather.”
Named for the Roman goddess of food and drink, Edesia will feature gourmet foods paired with wines and spirits. The event also will include live music, a silent auction and culinary demonstrations. Tickets sell for $65.
In addition to the main event, Edesia will feature a VIP luncheon at 11 a.m. prepared by chef instructors from the culinary arts program at Western Colorado Community College in Grand Junction. Tickets sell for $125, which also includes admission to the main event.
Alpine Bank, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Jack Daniel’s will present Edesia.
Proceeds from Edesia benefit the Marillac Clinic, which provides a range of health care services to Mesa County residents. The event raised $25,000 in 2016, bringing to $111,000 total contributions over the past six years.
