A venture capitalist is scheduled to deliver the keynote presentation at an upcoming event in Grand Junction offering information about starting and growing businesses.
Brad Feld, the co-founder of the Foundry Group and managing director of Techstars, will speak at what’s billed as Techstars Startup Week West Slope. The free event is scheduled for June 5 to 8 and will include panel discussions, presentations and workshops as well as social events. Feld’s presentation is set for June 6.

Mara Hardy, business development manager of the Grand Junction Economic Partnership, said four tracks are planned: capital, growth, makers and producers and marketing. A fun track also is planned to offer participants a chance to join in everything from mountain biking and trail running to a bar crawl.
Feld has worked as an entrepreneur and early stage investor since 1987. Foundry Group invests in technology companies throughout the United States and Canada as well as the next generation of venture capital fund managers. Techstars provides businesses access to financial, human and intellectual capital and has brought together entrepreneurs for Techstars Startup Week events in more than 75 communities.
Feld also co-founded Mobius Venture Capital and prior to that, he founded Intensity Ventures.
Feld has written books as part of the Startup Revolution series and also writes the blogs Feld Thoughts and Venture Deals. He frequently speaks about venture capital investing and entrepreneurship. Feld holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in management science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
