A Grand Junction woman with more a decade of experience in marketing, public relations and social media has launched what she bills as the first completely virtual advertising and social media agency in Mesa County.
Jennifer Hobbs is owner and brand strategist with the Kala Agency, a business she said she operates on a virtual basis that results in lower overhead costs and, in turn, lower hourly rates for clients.
“This approach allows us to have a more focused utilization of our clients’ marketing dollars since we don’t have to pay for building rent, fancy conference rooms, full-time staff, etc.,” Hobbs said. “Because we are small, we are able to be more responsive. We can also work within almost any budget, whether it’s one project or an ongoing campaign.”
Hobbs brings to her venture 13 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, public relations and social media. She’s held marketing and communications positions with Colorado Mesa University, the Denver Broncos, Mesa Mall and Rocky Mountain Health Plans. Hobbs holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from CMU and a master’s degree in global strategic communications from the University of Florida.
Hobbs said she named her agency after kala, the Hawaiian concept that there are no limits, only possibilities. “My goal is to create an incredible presence for companies, no matter their budget or size of project. I want to focus my clients’ dollars on their business, not mine.”
Social media packages start at $250 a month, Hobbs said.
