Visit Grand Junction has released a new guide that not only will be distributed to visitors worldwide, but also mailed to local businesses and households. The magazine-style guide features residents in stories, photographs and quotes.

“We wanted this guide to not only inspire locals to get out and visit areas they may not be aware of or haven’t experienced in a while, but we also wanted to feature local people as part of the guide,” said Elizabeth Fogarty, director of Visit Grand Junction. “As we build a stronger visitor brand for the Grand Junction Area, it’s important that we remain true to who we are and allow our brand to develop through the people who know the destination best — our residents.”

A letter accompanying the guide will thank businesses and residents for serving as brand ambassadors, Fogarty said. “Our residents truly are our brand ambassadors for guests who visit. A friendly smile and a hello, while walking downtown or sharing things to do with a visitor, go a long way in leaving a positive lasting impression to those who visit.”

The new guides are available at the Grand Junction Visitor Center at 740 Horizon Drive and can be viewed on the website at
