Volkswagen dealership opens

A new Volkswagen dealership has opened in temporary quarters in Grand Junction while a new facility is under construction.

The temporary sales facility for Grand Junction Volkswagen has opened near the intersection of 24 and F 1/2 Roads.

The facility is located just south of where the new Grand Junction Subaru-Volkswagen is set to open in late fall or early winter.

“We have recently purchased a fleet of late model, pre-owned Volkswagen models to sell at our temporary facility,” said Shawn Harrison, sales director of Grand Junction Subaru-Volkswagen. “We have Passats, Jettas, Golfs and Beetles currently available.”

New Volkswagens were scheduled to arrive Aug. 25, the day before the official opening.

“We are super excited to be bringing such high-quality and affordable automobiles to Western Colorado,” Harrison said.

To celebrate the opening, Grand Junction Volkswagen has scheduled an NFL Network tailgate tour for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 29 at the temporary facility.

The free event will include food, fun and prizes, including a trip to the NFL Network show in Los Angeles and an Xbox One, Harrison said.
