A team of culinary arts students from Western Colorado Community College in Grand Junction has advanced to a regional competition.
The five-member team is scheduled to compete in the 2015 Western Region American Culinary Federation competition set for March 21 and 22 in Las Vegas. The team advanced by virtue of its first-place finish in a state competition held in Denver in November. The WCCC team has won top honors at state for the last two years.
The team is comprised of Shane Calomino and Briana Thorne of Denver, Kevin Klepzig of Grand Junction, George McLennan of Scotland and Sandra Veitch of Fruita.
