WCCC to offer rangeland course

A course on rangeland ecology and management has been scheduled at Western Colorado Community College in Grand Junction.

The course is set for 4 to 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday Jan. 20 to May 8.

The course is designed for ranchers, farmers and landowners who have an interest in rangeland management, but also natural resource managers and people interested in ecology and recreation.

Dick Antonio, a range ecologist who will lead the course, said rangeland ecosystems cover about 35 percent of Western Colorado and play an important role in agriculture, recreation and wildlife habitat.

For more information about the course, contact Benjamin Keefer at 255-2754 or keefer@coloradomesa.edu or call WCCC at 255-2601.
