Wells Fargo remains the top Colorado lender of loans backed by a U.S. Small Business Administration program.
Wells Fargo also remains the top SBA lender nationally for a fourth consecutive year in terms of the dollar volume of loans approved through the 7 (a) general business guarantee program.
In Colorado, Wells Fargo issued 226 loans worth a collective $79.4 million during the 2012 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30. Both numbers ranked first statewide for 7 (a) lending.
Nationwide, Wells Fargo extended 3,176 loans, which ranked second. The dollar volume of those loans totaled a record $1.24 billion, which ranked first. Wells Fargo is the only SBA lending to top $1 billion in loan volume for two straight years.
Wells Fargo ranked first in the number of 7 (a) loans issued in 10 states and first in dollar volume in 15 states.
