Wienerschnitzel restaurants in the Grand Junction area will join in a promotion offering free old-fashioned sundaes to fathers on Father’s Day, June 17.

“We are excited to offer dads a chance to enjoy some old-fashioned family time on Father’s Day with an old-fashioned sundae,” said J.R. Galardi, president of Wienerschnitzel.

The old-fashioned sundaes feature soft-serve ice cream covered in hot fudge, chocolate, strawberry or caramel toppings along with whipped cream and a cherry.

Fathers can participate in the offer by bringing in their children or sharing a family photo or story with employees.

Founded in 1961 with a single hot dog stand in California, Wienerschnitzel now serves more than 120 million hot dogs a year.

Wienerschnitzel operates or franchises a total of 333 stores in 11 states — including seven locations in the Grand Junction area.
