Winefest lives up to grape expectations with sellout

All six events at the Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade sold out with more than 6,300 people in attendance for the largest event.

“It is so exciting to see guests travel from all over the world to attend this festival. It truly shows what an amazing job our Colorado wineries and grape growers are doing,” said Cassidee Shull, executive director of the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology. The nonprofit trade group of wineries and winegrape growers organizes the Winefest as a fund-raiser.

According to the association, people from 39 states and five foreign countries attended the Winefest, an event spanning four days in September. More than 50 Colorado wineries poured samples at the festival in Riverbend Park. The festival also included live music, dancing and a grape stomp competition.

The 2016 Colorado Mountain Winefest is set for Sept. 15 to 18. Tickets for the 25th anniversary event are scheduled to go on sale Nov. 30 on the Web site located at
