Winery co-owner appointed to state board

Billie Witham, co-owner of Two Rivers Winery in Grand Junction, is among four appointees to the Colorado Wine Industry Development Board.

Witham — who operates a winery and conference center with her husband, Bob Witham — serves on the board as a representative of a licensed winery. Her four-year term expires in 2018.

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper also appointed to the board Jeff Knight of Larkspur and Ashley Vaughters of Denver, both wholesale wine distributors, and Taylor Courey of Colorado Springs, a retail wine distributor.

The Colorado Wine Industry Development Board encourages and promotes winegrape and winery research and experimentation to increase the production and quality of wines made in Colorado. The board also promotes the marketing of Colorado wines and wineries as part of tourism to the state. For more information, visit
