Work of Western artist featured at framing business

Frame Depot in Grand Junction will feature the work of Cheryl Volz through October as its artist of the month.

The Fruita artist creates Western art depicting working dogs, horses, and rodeo action. She’s a signature member of the Women Artists of the West. Volz and her art have been featured in Rodeo News, Horses in Art and the Grand National Livestock Show and Rodeo Event Guide.

Volz studied drawing at the Kansas City Art Institute and earned a bachelor’s of fine arts degree from Colorado State University. She also studied art at Western State College and earned her certificate to teach art in kindergarten through 12th grade from CSU Pueblo.
