Airport runway race raises $1,000 for civil air patrol

A 5-kilometer race down a runway at the Grand Junction Regional Airport raised $1,000 for the Thunder Mountain Composite of the Civil Air Patrol. A total of 66 runners participated in the Airport Runway 5K, a benefit event for the Civil Air Patrol, a nonprofit organization offering aerospace education, emergency services and other programs.
