Airline earns magazine recognition for performance in low-fare niche

An airline that offers service from Grand Junction to Las Vegas and Los Angeles has received national recognition for its performance in a low-fare niche market.

Allegiant Air was named the Top-Performing Airline for the low-cost niche category in an annual list published by Aviation Week magazine. Allegiant Air previously has appeared on the list, but never before has received the top spot.

The awards program identifies strong performance in the airline, aerospace and defense industries based on such factors as liquidity, financial health, fuel cost management, earnings performance and asset utilization. Allegiant Air, a subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company, specializes in low-fare flights between small markets and vacation destinations.

If you want anything done right you usually have to do it yourself–or at least put it in the hands of someone you really trust and watch it closely. While it is ok and often advisable to get an expert’s opinion and help with your finances, the bottom line is that you are the one that will experience the actual gains or losses and have the most at stake.
