Steve Arnhold, chief engineer at the Doubletree Hotel in Grand Junction, has received an award for his performance.
Arnhold received the Spirit of Care Award from Hilton Worldwide. Less than 1 percent of Doubletree team members nationwide receive the honor each year. Winners are nominated by their peers based on their attitude, loyalty and service that exceeds the expectations of customers and fellow team members.
Arnhold will receive a cash prize of $350, two one-night stay certificates for any Doubletree brand property, a plaque, lapel pin and other special recognition.
“Arnhold continues to make outstanding contributions to guests and team members, showing great enthusiasm in all areas of his work at the hotel,” said Per Nilsson, general manager of the Doubletree Hotel in Grand Junction. “We are proud of his recognition as a Spirit of Care Award winner, the company’s most prestigious team member award. Employees like Arnhold create a welcoming and exceptional experience, which impacts other team members and creates a domino effect of great service.”
Arnhold works not only as chief engineer, but also serves as director of security and chairman of the safety committee. Under Arnold’s tenure, the hotel has seen a drop in guest and employee safety incidents. Arnhold’s department has the lowest turnover of any in the hotel, and members of his staff often receive awards for their performance. In addition to his regular duties, Arnhold works with the sales team to promote the hotel and also is involved in the Relay for Life fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society.
