Dr. Ellen Price and Dr. Lynda Hamner have joined the Family Health West Kokopelli Clinics in Fruita.
“Having Dr. Price and Dr. Hamner provide their expertise in Fruita is a huge benefit to our community,” said Dennis Ficklin, chief executive officer of Family Health West. “We are very fortunate to have such specialized services so close to home.”
Price specializes in treating work-related injuries, musculoskeletal injuries and delayed recovery. She has additional training in medical acupuncture, occupational medicine and sports medicine. She served as the medical director of a multidisciplinary pain program in Grand Junction for 12 years. She received a degree from the Nova Southeastern University of Osteopathic Medicine in Miami and completed her residency at the University of Colorado at Denver.
“My philosophy involves understanding the history or an injury and the many causes of both acute and chronic pain,” Price said. “I use a holistic approach that emphasizes a comprehensive rehabilitation program integrating conventional and alternative methods of healing.”
Hamner’s interests include musculoskeletal and orthopaedic medicine; integrative medicine and general physiatry, including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and stroke. She went to medical school and completed her residency at Louisiana State University.
“I believe Family Health West’s mission aligns with mine in providing the best of care for patients,” Hamner said. “It is a wonderful opportunity to work with Dr. Price and Family Health West. I look forward to further contributing and enhancing this cooperative healing environment.”
