Newest Mesa Mall retailer sports merchandise for fans

A new sports apparel and merchandise store has opened in the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction.

Fanzz Sports Apparel is located in the Target wing of the mall next to Radio Shack.

The new store caters to Colorado sports fans with jerseys, hats and other merchandise associated with the  Colorado Avalanche and Rockies as well as the Denver Broncos. But the store also carries products for other teams.

“We’re excited that Fanzz Sports Apparel has joined our retail lineup at Mesa Mall because Western Colorado is home to many dedicated sports fans and this is a category that needed to be filled in this market,” said Paul Petersen, property manager at Mesa Mall.

“Fanzz Sports Apparel is a great option for those shoppers. And the timing of their opening positions them perfectly to enter the holiday shopping season,” Petersen added. “It’s also great timing for us Broncos fans to stock up on fan gear for the season.”

Fanzz Sports Apparel carries Adidas, Nike, Reebok and Spalding product lines as well as 60 other lines. That enables the store to offer products from a range of professional and college teams.

Based in Salt Lake City, Fanzz began operations in 1985 and since has grown into one of the largest sports apparel and merchandise retailers in the region with a total of more than 55 locations in an eight-state area of the Western United States. Boot Barn, a leading western and work wear retailer, also has announced plans to open a store in the mall before the holiday shopping season.
